Over 50% of severe asthma patients have an allergic component.1

Allergic asthma is an easily recognised asthma phenotype,2 and patients with this condition may have:

Personal history of allergic comorbidities
High or low eosinophil levels
Serum levels of allergen-specific IgE² ⁴
Symptoms and/or exacerbations in response to allergen exposure⁴
A positive skin prick test² ⁴
Family history of allergic disease² ⁴
